[Luckily, if Yeul needs a face to face, Serah's around the house-- outside, and giving Daisy the much-needed attention that Daisy always needs, but she's here. And she's surprised to hear Yeul's voice come off like that, so something must be up.]
I'm not busy at all, though I think Daisy may argue that. [And as if Daisy can hear their amulet communications, she lightly headbutts Serah because you need to give me more attention.] What do you need, Yeul? You didn't have a fight with Noel, did you?
[Though they might if he finds out? Perhaps not. They only ever seem to disagree about Caius, and even with that, Yeul tries to balance both their feelings in the equation and never her own.
Mention of Daisy gives Yeul a good idea where Serah might be, so she meanders outside to give the goat all the pettings she deserves. Could make this easier too. Her steps slow as she draws closer and leads off by stroking Daisy on the head. It's a good start.]
You're a teacher, so...
[Deep breath. She can do this! This is evidence she does not have the temperament to wield weapons.]
[Ah, so she was home! Serah moves over for Yeul to be able to give all of the love and attention to Queen Daisy, and when she speaks next, Yeul gets a curious look.]
Yeah, I am...
[What was she getting at? When the younger girl takes a deep breath and blurts out her request, Serah's stunned into silence and a surprised stare. She... wanted to fight?]
[Making a confusing mess of this already. Yeul sighs softly, drawing a confused bleat and nudge from Daisy.]
When dangerous things happen, all I can do is run and let others save me. You all leave and fight sometimes, and I never doubt you'll come home, but the waiting... it is lonely.
The other Yeuls. Some led their people. Others sealed away dangers. All I've ever done is wait and wait to be protected. I don't want to be a burden. Or a liability to distract from what must needs be done.
[Which isn't to say she never did her fair share of chores in the village. And she spends most of her day making the house a home. But she's been given a second chance at life and she wants to live.]
[As Yeul explains, she understands. She never really fought until she had to when Noel came through the gate and gave her Mog, and having Lightning gone so much for PSICOM was hard. Snow, too, when he was out and about and fighting. Waiting for them to come home was the worst part of everything.]
You're not a burden to us, not at all. I know everyone in the house would agree. The Yeul in my time probably got to see that I just sorta got... told I had to fight. Snow taught me a little, and so did everyone in NORA, but I wasn't the best at it. [She still relies on Noel and Lightning a lot, though she knows she's gotten better at it: she held her own against Rokurou, and even fought Gem by herself.] You'd probably be like me and do better with a weapon like a bow and arrow, but... we should probably talk to Lightning and Noel too, so they know. [...and begrudgingly:] ...Caius, too, probably. I don't think trying to teach you in secret would make any of them really happy, but if you really want to learn... maybe it could be self defense, for when we can't be here with you.
[That would probably be the best way to get the others on her side about learning it; Serah's probably a little too empathetic about it since that was the reason why she was taught how to fight too.]
[Yeul would contend her very existence is a burden for Caius but doesn't care to belabor the point. Instead she just nods slowly, taking it for a good thing when Serah suggests he be consulted too. Perhaps it means they'll come to accept each other and make peace. Or so she privately hopes.]
I worry that Caius will take it as an accusation he has been derelict in his duties to me. It is not true, but... he deserves to have his own life, not shackled by me.
[Still, it's such a relief that Serah seems to understand that Yeul launches herself at her for a hug. She's still a tiny thing so at least Serah's in no danger of getting toppled.]
We'll just have to figure out how to address that, so he doesn't think that. We all worry for you, and I know if we're not there, we want you to be safe. But if we can get him to understand that, then I don't see why he wouldn't be all right with it.
[When Yeul jumps to hug her, she catches her with an "oof!" but is quick to laugh after.]
You're welcome, Yeul. I'm sure they'll understand when we explain it to them, right?

Yes! That would be wonderful. Thank you, Serah!
