[Best girl.

But she's not the only one who seems to brighten the place upon seeing the other. As soon as he spots her and sees her own little bit of shine, most of his dour mood immediately clear, the touch of gray that had been following him (not malevolence, thankfully) evaporating and colors returning. Although his smile isn't as wide as it normally is, it's there. And honestly, if she wasn't carrying ice cream, he would have just wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her hair right then and there, but he resists. For now.]

Come to think of it I haven't really spent too much time here, have I?

[Mostly brief visits and then, well. That time he'd rather not remember. He hopes his malevolence hadn't ruined her room...

And of course even though he reaches out to take her things, she's not going to let him, will he? He'll only insist once before letting her have her way. But...cats. Haaaaad to be cats. Normally he wouldn't mind that much (despite what he may say, he actually does like cats well enough), but seeing them only reminded him of a certain tubby one that's now in town and so that mood may dampen just a little as he tries to step around them.

He will hold the door open for her when she opens it, especially if her hands are full.]

I don't think so, no. But with all of the steam gone, you get a nice view of the city from my room. Auron picked a good one for me.

[Between Roku and Lightning, there had been some... problem places in her room that were cleaned up as best she could, but otherwise her room was still pristine-ish.

If he tries to take anything from her, she just holds them out of reach; nope, no overdoing it Rokurou Rangetsu, that's not allowed. And lucky for him, once the two of them get to her room, the cats finally go off to do their own thing and beg for human foods elsewhere, so they won't be following into her room.

Once he gets the door (which she'll allow to happen, since that's not overdoing it) the bags are placed on the desk across from her bed, and true to her word she goes to the window to open the curtains and the window to allow for not only fresh air, but a nice view.]

See? It's not of the lake, but... it's a good second place.

[Rokurou just follows her in and closes the door behind them. But right after she opens the curtains and the window, she'll feel his arms slip around her waist from behind, his head pressing firmly against the space between her neck and shoulders.]

Think this is the best place right here.

[That's a line that would normally be said as some stupid, cheesy, flirty pick-up, but right now? His voice just sounds tired, quiet, and a little more relaxed as he takes her all in.]

[See, she had figured he just needed a pick-me-up, not this. Not that she minded, but she is taken by surprise when she feels him cuddling up to her. She tries her best to look over at him.]

[Normally his stupid cheesy pick up line would get a groan and probably an eyeroll, but this seems... different than his normal pick up attempts here, and that's concerning.]

[He's enjoying being with her, so he doesn't want to think about his brother right now.]

[She won't question him since it seems like whatever is wrong, this is helping. So, instead of saying anything, a hand comes up to rest on top of his head, trying to be reassuring.

When he's ready to talk, he'll talk to her. She has no doubt about that.]

[It'll be a little more than a minute before he takes a breath and raises his face a bit so his chin is resting against the ridge of her shoulders.]

Not sure how much I told you about him, but my brother's here now.

[Has he? If he has, she's probably forgotten it just so it didn't get brought up on accident to make him angry or something... but he definitely sounds unhappy, so it's not like with her and Lightning where they're close.]

But if you don't wanna talk about him, you don't have to. I'm gonna guess that's why you wanted the alcohol, though. Am I right?

[That...is actually not what he expected and it's actually a little refreshing to hear. He knows he will have to talk about it some or else he'll have another malevolence outbreak, but...not right now.]

[It seems silly to get mad over that when he needed her around, so... why get mad over it? She's not the type to do that, and if she can ease the anger or malevolence just by being around? Then she'll take it.]

So... [And now with her other hand she boops his nose and laughs.] No saying sorry for it.

[There's just a light smile before he chuckles and hugs her a little closer. ]

Guess we should start eating it before it melts, huh?

[He'll always wonder how she manages to always make him feel better, to actually make him feel that more human sense of happiness. Yet she somehow does and he's becoming more and more grateful for it.]

And I got you mango ice cream and some coconut rum to go with it. Hopefully that isn't the worst combination for you...?

I got chocolate cherry and lots of whipped cream. I did get extra for you, but if you don't want it...

But let's see chocolate cherry? Then this one is definitely hers, and this one must be his. Looks like he can also add the rum to it, which he might.]

I'll take same of that whipped cream unless you really want all of it to yourself.

[He's being gross again, ugh. But if it means he's feeling more like himself despite the aches and pains and injuries, then she'll let it slide for now. She won't hog all of the whipped cream though, and she'll hand over the container of it for him. Just because she likes extra doesn't mean he would want it at all, so she just wanted to be sure here!]

I have more than enough, so I guess I'll keep being soft since you said I was.

[She knows damn well what he meant by that, and the look on her face says that she does, but she's going to mean it in a different way just to really eat at him. Take that!]

[He's mostly recovered, gosh!! So what if official doctor's orders still has him "bedrest" for another day or two he's fine, it's fiiine. It's just a testament to his hearty constitution and vitality.]
